Created in part of my 2020 12-Month Series, comprised of twelve 60cm by 80cm oil paintings, January depicts a snow-covered mountain forest scene improvised through various reference photos from Semmering, Austria. The colour palette for this piece was inspired by the beautiful winter paintings by American artist Barbara Jaenicke.
