Created in part of my 2020 12-Month Series, comprised of twelve 60cm by 80cm oil paintings, August depicts two goats enjoying a hot summer day on the Greek island of Anafi. I found the goats to have so much personality as they trotted around and knocked their heads together. I took the reference photo for this painting while I lay on the beach several meters away with my zoom lens.
